The Convoy L6 is an extremely powerful high performance handheld searchlight. It utilizes a CREE XHP70.2  LED with increased output (4,300 lumen) over the old 3,800 lumen version.  Offering 4 brightness levels and a hidden strobe mode. Sturdy construction with an anti-scratch  finish, you can count on the L6 in the toughest conditions. The Convoy L6 has a calculated beam distance (throw) of 630 meters or 99,250 CD.  It is perfect for your outdoor adventures, camping hiking, caving and anywhere else you need a powerful flashlight.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:
To turn the light ON and OFF click the TAIL SWITCH.   To change MODES, turn the light ON using the tail switch then tap the FRONT SWITCH to change the brightness level.   The light will cycle through 4 brightness levels Low: 24 lumen, Medium: 190 lumen, High: 1725 Lumen, Turbo 4300 lumen.  When you power the light off the last mode used will be memorized.   There is also a STROBE function that can be activated by a fast double tap on the front switch when the light is powered on (strobe can not be memorized).

If your light DOES NOT POWER ON, or at any time it QUITS WORKING the reason is because the"THREAD COVER" for the lanyard ring (or the LANYARD RING if you have it installed) between the tail end of the body and the tail cap has come loose, and is preventing the tail cap from threading on all the way.   Retighten the thread cover (or lanyard ring) to enable the tail cap to thread down all the way and make electrical contact with the light body and the light will be able to power on. To see a VIDEO about this you can also search Youtube.com for "Trouble shooting Convoy L6".   You can also get technical support by clicking "Contact Us" on the website.

Output and Ultralux package

The 70.2 L6 is factory rated at 4,300 lumen.  Below are the test results I got using my lumen tube after calibrating using a light measured by with professional equipment.

                                                                             Lumens             Candela
Convoy L6 XHP70................................................2,825..............84,000
Convoy L6 XHP70.2.............................................3,372...............99,250
Convoy L6 70.2 De-Dome.................................3,039............149,500
Convoy L6 70.2 Boosted....................................4,568............134,000
Convoy L6 70.2 Boost+De-Dome...................3,723.............176,250

Removing the dome of the LED is to increase the range.  It makes the beam tighter, and throw farther (test shown under Candela) with the side effects of a slight decrease in lumens, and color temperature. Color temp change is  about 500-1000k warmer so a 6500k light becomes around 5500k.

This video outlines the changes made for the Ultralux package and their effect
